There are a few clear rules for this contest. The submissions must be a Latin or Greek word of four, five or six letters. This word should have a clear link with life sciences, education or the characteristics of the building itself. The building is characterised by a sustainable atmosphere and daylight in all of the areas; it is energy efficient, has indoor vegetation, is low maintenance and has a flexible layout.
Deadline 24 April
Participants are invited to submit their ideas, including a brief explanation, to my.nameproposal@wur.nl. The email should contain the suggested name in the subject line. Speedy action is needed, the contest closes at 18.00 hr on 24 April. Multiple proposals can be submitted, as long as each is sent in a separate email.
Jury
A four-person jury will judge the entries. The jury is made up of Arnold Bregt, dean of education, Sander Fransen, head of communications, a member of the student council and a representative of the teacher community. Each member of the jury will shortlist 3 names, which will then be merged into a single list during jury deliberation. From this list, two names will be selected and presented to the Executive Board, which will choose the winning entry. The winner will be disclosed on 1 May and will receive a certificate and a sum of 250 euros.
